JHDS LLC, doing business as (DBA) Phoenix Steel, is a trusted leader in structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection, proudly serving both public and private projects across the tri-state area. With a legacy of five generations and a state-of-the-art 60,000 sq. ft. facility, we combine craftsmanship, advanced CNC technology, and integrated in-house services to deliver precision, efficiency, and on-time execution. Founder & CEO
With over four decades of experience in the steel fabrication industry, Jorge Hermida continues a proud family legacy that began five generations ago with his great-great-grandfather. Starting his career as a teenager working alongside his father, Manuel Hermida, Jorge built his expertise from the ground up — from hands-on fabrication to managing complex structural steel projects of significant scale.
His leadership and deep industry knowledge have guided the successful completion of numerous large and challenging jobs across the region. In 2004, Jorge founded JHDS, LLC, now doing business as Phoenix Steel, to carry forward his family's commitment to excellence in steel fabrication and erection.

Andres Hermida
Chief Estimator
Working closely alongside his father and brother as Chief Estimator, Andres oversees the estimating department and assists in project coordination. He plays a key role in maintaining precision and competitiveness in every bid, ensuring clients receive accurate pricing and value-driven solutions. His analytical approach and understanding of project logistics help streamline operations from estimation through fabrication and erection, reinforcing Phoenix Steel's efficiency and commitment to excellence.
